Clarys Plage campsite is ideally situated 400 metres from the beach, alongside the cycle route and just outside Saint-Jean-de-Monts and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez.
You can go for walks or a bike trip amongst the state owned forests, have a picnic in complete peace and quiet and follow the coastline’s cycle routes for more than 100 km through several forests, in particular Notre-Dame-de-Monts, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez, Olonne-sur-Mer, Talmont-Saint-Hilaire, Longeville-sur-Mer and further south La-Faute-sur-Mer.
The islands of Noirmoutier and Yeu are very charming. The Marais Breton natural treasure situated between the Vendée and the Loire-Atlantique. You can reach the Island of Noirmoutier by bridge or by the Passage du Gois, a natural 4 km route that links the island to the mainland at low tide.

In one day you can have quite an adventure with Port de la Meule, fine sandy beaches edged with pine trees, marshes with a wealth of fauna and flora, wild coastline and steep cliffs to be explored.
Le Bocage is a hilly region with 350 km of big hiking classified hiking trails, 1300 km of small hiking classified hiking trails, 400 km of cycle routes, where you can discover chateaux and abbeys if you stray off the beaten track. Make a visit to Maison de la Rivière at Saint Georges de Montaigu, explore La Cité des Oiseaux in the Landes Genusson and climb aboard the Orient-Express which crosses farmland on a 22 km picturesque line, from Mortagne sur Sèvres to Herbiers.
The Vendée wars during the French Revolution have left their mark. Follow the historical trails by travelling from Puy du Fou® with its Grand Parc® and Cinéscénie®, and continue on via the Mont des Alouettes to the Logis de la Chabotterie, where General Charrette de la Contrie was arrested. In the Grasla Forest at Les Brouzils there is a reconstituted place of refuge for families fleeing the Colonnes Infernales of Général Turreau.
